I'm Lizzie. Mom, wife, executive, and snack-lady to two tiny humans!

I started The Snack Life because finding healthy packaged foods is difficult. The product selection is endless, labels are misleading, and shelves are dominated by ultra-processed foods (UPFs) that are making kids sick.

I'd love to have organic whole foods prepped for all eating occasions, but it's not realistic for my family's lifestyle, and packaged foods will always be part of our diet. The Snack Life exists to simplify nutritional research, clarify labels and ingredients, and highlight products that I would feed my own.

I am not a doctor, dietician or nutritionist. I do my own research (many of my favorite resources and thought-leaders are linked here), with a particular focus on our food system, processed foods and ingredients.

I believe the incentive misalignment between our food and healthcare systems is one of the most important issues of our time, and the number of "experts" recommending products that I would not give my own children is what led me to create this platform.

While warnings against certain products or brands will occur, that is not my purpose. My #1 goal is to help moms like me easily identify the good, better and best in packaged foods.
